Born in 1898 in Sweden, Nils Thorsson started an apprenticeship aged 13 at the Aluminia Factory in Copenhagen, graduating from the Royal Danish Academy in 1917. He was Artistic director at Royal Copenhagen from 1949 while also artistic director of Alumina also from 1928-1969.
He designed the BACA Series with a complex and detailed pattern. The dish is square with round corners and has striking blue and purple tones. It is marked Royal Copenhagen Denmark, Fajance, 704/2883. With Nils Thorsson Signature.

A beautiful collectible ceramic by French ceramist Robert Picault, made in Vallauris, France. The piece is perfect for ceramic collections, mid-century vibes and Vallauris lovers. This region in France produced some of the most interesting ceramic pieces in the mid 20th century. Signed RP and stamped "Picault made in France 40". Picault's distinctive use of oxidized turquoise and rust tone glazes can be found on this ramekin. No cracks or chips, perfect condition.

Jens Harald Quistgaard was a Danish sculptor and designer, known for his work for Dansk Designs. He was a sculptor, grounded in traditional handicrafts which influenced his tableware and kitchenware designs. Dansk items are synonymous with Scandinavian modern. This pair of candleholders is a wonderful centerpiece for holiday dinners with candles or without as a sculpture item. A classic modernist piece perfect to blend in with any home style. This pair model is in a clover shape designed the 1960s and made out of cast iron. Denmark stamped on each one, sold as a pair.

Pewter is one of the earliest known metals used for basic utensils and remnants of early plates. Pewter became the predominant metal for most household objects, and, between 1640 and 1840, there were thousands of individuals or small companies in both Britain and Europe. In Germany, during the 14th and 15th Century, marks showing quality were added to the finished pewter by certified examiners. Guilds were formed to control the quality and the 'Tudor rose' and the 'Rose and crown', stamps introduced in the 16th Century, were used throughout England and Europe. Around the beginning of the 18th century, the, now recognized 'Angel' stamp was introduced and used mainly in the north of France, Germany, and North Europe. Original pewter lid skillfully replaced Below very clearly marked: Angel + "ACH", Star, "GL" and crowned rose. Pewterer GL from Aachen. The Small one is a Woodbury Pewter ABC Child´s plate from 1950s.

After research we believe they are made by ceramist Rodger Lang (1942- 2000) Lang was a professor at Milton College in Milton, Wisconsin, Ceramics Head at Cleveland Institute in Cleveland, Ohio and also taught at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.

A beautiful vase in urn shape from Paris. The glaze is black matte on the exterior with white textured speckles, black glossy on the inside. No chips or cracks. A great addition to any curiosity cabinet or ceramic collection. The Designer is unknown but a truly beautiful mid-century piece.
A beautiful ceramic pitcher in black with a hot pink glazed interior. A late Mid-Century Modern piece from the flea market in Paris. Animalistic in form, the pitcher's shape resembles a little bird. Its black color is a bit iridescent looking silver in the light. The pitcher is signed H.R on the bottom but I have not been able to trace its maker. The pitcher has a small spec where glaze is missing at the mouth of the pitcher, barely noticeable, shown in pictures. The bottom is not completely smooth, minor chip on the bottom as seen in the signature picture but no major chips or cracks, overall excellent condition. Great collectible piece for ceramic collectors, cabinet of curiosities or bookshelf collections.

Pierre d'Avesn, was born in 1901. In the beginning he worked at Rene Lalique's. For 10 years. During this period, he designed Lalique's famous "Serpent" vase as well as the "Tourbillons" vase, two of the most highly priced and extremely collectible pieces by "Lalique". In 1926, he left René Lalique and created his own models. His pieces were made by Cristallerie de Saint-Rémy.
